But Spaceboy, Britain's name will never sound as cowardly as their country's, espescially in a Yankee accent  geddit?

Seriously though I haven't read a thing about any of this, why were Iranian troops able to capture people in Iraq? or was it a canal that was in no man's land? I guess it just boiled down to confusion cos theres no right and wrong, the way I've always seen it is that Iraq has histroically been the agressor with Britian and America at her sides, and Iran has been the victim since the 70's of American, British and Israeli plots to underemine the country as a whole. This shit is just so compicated with Shia and Sunni majorities/ minorities and Kurds/Kurdistan, Israel/ Plaestine. What a fucking mess, all goes to pot when we strike out our own particular identities and destinies as opposed to facing the music as a species I guess!

Should have put money on this :D

Hopefully the UK will now just stay the fuck out of prompting yet another pointless conflict.

Sorry people are being captured, but the gov know exactly why they have been and what exactly they can do to secure safe release. so do it already.

And while you'r at it, how about releasing all the other people who didnt sign up for an illegal war you have positioned in iraq and Afganistan. Thanks.

I think both US and UK armies are very overstretched, so any threats they give out are going to be difficult to back up and I think bombing Iran over 15 troops would be a ridiculous over-reaction and lower international relations for both countries.
Turns out you were right.

Has to be said that Ahminejehad (or however it's spelt) seems to be like the kid taking the piss out of the bully with the broken arm at the moment - what you gonna do hey.

Not into his holocaust revisionism, but he seems to be enjoying the situation of knowing they can't really do shit and winding the fuck out of the US and UK governments.

well it was a total PR win for Iran for sure. a diplomatic win for Blair. they made no apology and got their people back within 2 weeks. the funny thing nobody asks is why was the "great imperial navy" there anyway? there is no clear line as to what is Iran's & what is Iraqi waters. the Brits were there without the UN's permission and have been policing those waters for decades now boarding boats as they see fit. oh, and what if they were treated even close to the way our brothers are treated in Guantanomo or Abu Ghraib? i know they were blindfolded and hey that's gotta be horrible, but they are soldiers. sucks they had to be used as pawns in this propaganda war.

the relationship between Iran and the Uk goes far back. i think if a lot of people knew that the Brits raped our countries oil for years, and even had a huge hand in overthrowing Mossedeq (i think in '56) because he wanted to nationalize Iran's oil. The Shah was put back in place and the oil flowed and flowed. BP even took over my parents hometown of Abadan. a whole town i aint shitt'n u! i'm not saying who is right or wrong here. i hate all this shit, and it drives me mental. i do know facts though and this is just one point of view from the other side of the spectrum. someone who is from there, but grew up in the states.

I think Amadinijad is lame, and he says some pretty stupid shit but the people in Iran can care less. most of the country is under 30 and they just want to get pissed up and party like us. it would be great if a country could just be judged by the people and not a few @ the top. but then again i'm sure we ALL feel that way now. respect to all is the way i roll

I recall the lyrics to a song that went something like:

All you know about me is what I've sold you,
Dumb fuck.
I sold out long before you ever heard my name.

I sold my soul to make a record,
Dip shit,
And you bought one.

All you read and
Wear or see and
Hear on TV
Is a product
Begging for your
Fatass dirty
Dollar

So...Shut up and

Buy my new record
Send more money
Fuck you, buddy.

Which is to say, I wouldn't believe the hype the media is spinning you. I watched an interview with Mike Wallace, I believe it was--and he kept asking the leader of Iran these really nasty questions, and this "TYRANT" kept being nice and answering these really insulting questions. Mind you, this American journalist was IN IRAN, where he could have been beheaded... basically, what it all boils down to, is that he said that Israel shouldn't exist.

Now, some people might find that to be anti-semetic, but only if you think what he is saying is that he wants to eradicate jews. Consider for a second that he's not saying that. Think about what he said--Israel shouldn't exist. Nowhere does he say destroy Israel, only that there should not be a place called Israel where Palestine actually sits.

The next step, is to consider their national product is OIL. Crack dealers don't smoke crack--they sell crack. They smoke weed.

So Iran wants nuclear power, so they aren't under the auspices of American control of the Oil markets--notice China and Russia aren't buying the hype--instead, they are making backmarket Oil deals.

And Saddam? His fate was sealed when he stopped trading in US Dollars and went to the Euro... nothing to do with weapons, nothing to do with trade with the US... he simply told us "your money is no good here" and so we attacked.

NOTHING your government, or MY government has told us for the last 200 years is true. There isn't a single stitch of American history worth being proud of or dying for. There's not one single piece of land that wasn't stolen from those who came before us. Fucking pity really... I'd capture our soldiers too, if I was Iran.

Yeah, when you consider

9/11 - 3000 deaths

Annual gun murders of US citizens BY US citizens - 20,000 (these figures are a few years old but don't imagine they'll have changed that much)

...then by that logic the US should be bombing itself.

I get the same feeling when I see Blair wanting to clamp down on gun crime and then noticing the effects of our little ventures in the Middle East, nothing like a bit of hypocrisy in policy is there.
