That's what I was looking for.
Right now I'm just putting stuff to tape with a walkman, and that sounds like absolute shit.
That shit should be a given, why are you recording on to a walkman?
Those things are like $25 bucks for a good one. Just hit up the thriftstores. Find one with High Speed Dubbing if you are going to be making a lot of tapes.
Right now I'm rocking a Technics RS-TR157 tape deck that I got for like $20 bucks at a thriftstore, and it's a pretty good deck. Besides Technics, look for Onkyo, Pioneer, Marantz and Sony's, among others.

A few years ago a friend and I put a hardcore bands demo out only on cassette. We did 100 and I recorded all the tapes on a 2 deck hifi. It was quite alot of late nights sat around recording but is do-able. I'd look at cheap hifis on ebay or in charity shops.

I buy loads of ambient stuff, noise, power electronics and black metal on tape. Tape never went away for some music.

Whenever I hear tape it always sounds shit. Maybe because of the poor condition the tapes were kept in.

Probably going to release the masters for free after the tape sells out.

I've got a Napalm Death tape I wonder if it's worth any money, although it probably wasn't when it was new.

Mostly dub techno and reggae stuff probably. Unless I make something really cool that I feel would fit.

as has been said..... I'd say it's a bit too 'out there'. I might see it and go 'ha'. But I wouldn't buy it. Just not practical, I don't think many people have Tape Decks.
