I think the concept of being in a bad mood to make good art has been talked about for a long time, simply because some of the "greatest" art is about negative things, or was produced from a tormented mind (this is debatable, but i.e. Van Gogh, Michelangelo, etc.) . IMO also its alot easier to challenge and make radical decisions in a negative mood. But I don't think that means you can't do it in a positive mood. The creativity just comes from a different place.
