Think its through redrum tho mate, pretty cool for adding vocs to your drums.

yeh i dont think they have audio editing in quite the same way other daws do. for instance in reaper you can simply drag any audio file straight onto a track and chop/edit/add fx. which is so sweet. If reason incorporated this into its workflow id only ever use reason, dnt really need vst add ons with that beast! Thor is the only synth youll ever need! could maybe do with a more comprehensive delay plugin though.

Agreed with this.

Many people find thor sound "weak" compared to other soft synths like massive.

The trick is that the initialized patch has a very low drive and output setting. Turn those baby's up and it will sounds way better without even doing anything really..

That's what I did, actually. There are things in Reason that are 100x easier to do than in Cubase (e.g. automating something, or managing automations in the sequencer), but the Reason sequencer seems to be modeled after the Cubase one more than any other from what I can tell. The hardest thing to get used to is routing. Also, I hate using effects as Sends, I never did that ONCE in all my time using Reason.

I spent ages using cubase and reaper, but now ive moved back to where i started - reason - becuase i quite like all the wiring etc. i think it helps me better understand what im doing to a sound exactly... also reverb send is so useful to get it sounding liek everythin is comin from same space.

i also like the studio in a box feel to it, stops me messing about with fx for hours wen all im really after is a simple effect. pushes workflow and creativity i reckon.

This pic doesn't even begin to do justice to the mindfuck that has sprung up behind my real reason rack.

Lol, they deliberately refuse to integrate it based on the fact that they want reason/record to be all in one music making packages and to allow them to say that their programs aren't 'DAWs' and address a slightly different market. Think they also like the speed and stability it gives their programs. I've never lagged my computer in Reason and I've *really* pushed it. In Ableton though I have to tiptoe about to stop it from having a hissy fit...

oh yeah i hear that, sometimes my computer decides to shit about and ill hop on to reason alone...altho i usually rewire it into ableton but thank god for reason being so stable when your comp shits itself
