Ive not used cdjs much myself. Used alot of pioneer 1000's and the like in clubs, and yeah theyre awesome...but obviously cost a bomb
Myself, ive got a real cheap kam cdj. Just bought it for playing the odd tune on my radio show (only 128kbps) but to be honest its clearly not very good. Pitch controls and jog wheel do the job, but the sound quality is really naff (sub bass always seems to have this kind of 'buffeting' sound, seems to add a bit of a wobble to it and definitely doesnt have a good frequency response low down). I dunno really, ive only ever owned this cdj so just thought id let you know! Its a KCDJ200FX
I've seen the kam ones about and was considering getting one, as the amp and speakers i have are kam and they're pretty good quality, im only after a cdj for similar reasons, just want to put the odd cd track into mixes, i was gonna check out the behringer ones as ive always used behringer and had no probs with the make, the sensible option tho is to be patient and save for a pioneer, be worth it in the long run!! :4:

I was looking at this about 5mins ago. Going through all the products just wishing to own a set like this ^^^

Affording it is a diff story. God knows how you've paid for them being a student...

Just out of interest tho.. If say you were minted and bought a pair of CDJ2000's and a high quality mixer without any DJ experience would you struggle to even use them? Would you class it as a waste of money or what? Or would it be a smart idea to start with the best equipment available rather than cheaper/less complex equipment?

I would look second hand if i was you. Pioneers and technics are built so solidly that you can pretty much buy very old models and expect them to be working smoothly. i picked up a cdj-400 for £350. its a smaller version of the 1000 and works just as intuitively. its got a usb port too, although ive never used it. gumtree will supply you

I wouldn't recommend those unless you're DJing at a wedding.

If there's a Cash Converters near you, or the equivalent, its work checking in there. One by mine had a pair of CDJ 800 MK2's for £500. You could probably knock them down too cause i doubt they know much about dj gear haha.
