If you're on a really tight budget (i.e nothing) http://www.freesound.org/ is a great place to get field recordings and all you need is a screen name.

Yup. Lots of claps, sometimes a snare or two thrown in. I don't mind them for funky tracks, but they lack power.

Love these organic claps too! Normally I would layer two or more claps, but one later than the other. Also some vinyl noise or any random noise for the tail.

How bout this one?

finger snaps mixed with claps?? its a sweet effect. fucking with the attack on the envelope?? panning each sound slightly to spread it a little?? this is what i would try to achieve this. i have no idea tho haha.

Yeah I played with some claps and snares and it doesn't sound like squashing insects like this.

Guy is genius. When I got my prelude I used to drive as fast and as hard as I could while listening to the colorbrain mix.
And by god every time I hear the song I think of the rush

# 1. Prelude is fun as fuck to drive. Perfect balance of power and weight for domestic settings. Fuck it drifts good. Anyone that says you can't drift in a front wheel, has never seen hotrod nowaysj take a corner. :D:

# 2. The OG sound that is being played with here was just a clap mapped across the keyboard then played with the Shaolin 10 finger tiger claw technique, some highs, some lows and some eq. More and more eq nowadays (and less and less claps, apparently).

I`m gonna get a h1 soon. Very cheap and people say it sounds ok. Once i recorded my belly gargling, must have been something I ate that day.

I discovered this a few days ago. I was sat at my desk, turned the voice memo function on my iPhone and started hitting random shit with a pen (my colleagues must have thought I had finally lost it).

Forgot about it until I opened iTunes and saw a 'voice memo' playlist, opened it up, and dragged and dropped straight into Logic. I grinned so wide the top half of my head fell off.

you could record yourself squashing some insects then? haha or anything, like a branch, a carton, a bottle, some crisps etc.

As I was wondering, anyone know how to get a sample in FL to play a couple of milliseconds later every time? I know about the (forgotten the name of the parameter) parameter that you can change for each hit, but I mean in the sampler menu
