^ASCAP isn't copyright. If you want to register the copyrights of your music, in the states you do so w/ the Library of Congress.
ASCAP collects royalties for performances of your works-- similar to PRS in the UK. There's also BMI and SESAC in the states.

I agree that you are not ready but have to say the track "dirty money" is not so bad - there is an idea and some groove i feel:) sound is bad.

many times it has been sent out....

Stop sending music to people and just write music for yourself for a bit, you know make music what YOU would listen to on your own in your bedroom on repeat for hours.

Reading this, I just realized that the times when I've been most productive have been the times before I was uploading tunes and then the "break" that I took a few months back.
I need to get my production priorities straight!

i always thought intellectual property rights covered a track as soon as you produced it, no paperwork required?

As far as i understand this is how it works. The only time problems arise is when someone claims they had the idea/made the track before you, which would cause them to own the intellectual property.
TBH the cheapest way to do this is to make up a CD and send it to yourself in the post. Don't open it until someone files a claim. Since the post will have a date stamped on it you can prove you were the first to have the song.

If that was the case then everyone would copywrite their stuff like this, it would be cheaper. Their has been cases where this as happened in the past, and they have won, but I would not consider that a copywrite.
