not sure what you were expecting but people don't exactly go to leeds for the dubstep, if there was any place I'd expect moshing it would be leeds/reading/glasto, but to be honest I don't mind this because whilst everyone is in the middle getting squashed I like to hang at the side of the stage next to the speakers and skank without being suffocated.. although with that being said, it doesnt make it right

ye ye i see your point there ryan. With it being a festival people were in that dance tent just to rave out be it to house, dubstep or dnb. They were just off their heads and wanting to dance. I think the further you go to the front the more pushing there is obviously gonna be with people trying to get in front of you and then people skanking. I think it will always be like that.

I agree with this. It's just not the place or the right genre really.. And starting fights is pathetic, you're all there because you want to skank to some good tunes, idiots who start fights should be chucked out straight away.

I notice the same thing out here in LA, obnoxious kids fighting for a space in the front for no logical reason. From the stage to about 20 feet back is pure clusterfuck, but you can usually get a nice spot if you're just outside that.

a few points raised here:

jakwob is a tool (proper shit selection as well when i saw him at bestival)
moshing is for retards who should be a fucking different gig or change their attitude
dmz is still an awesome pilgrimage and we should all have to visit a certain amount of times a year just like mecca (no not the bingo place)

and we should start a special awareness campaign called "allow 2 foot square for skanking purposes" or something more catchy, might make a t-shirt.

we have the same problem in belgium, the last decent dubstep party i went was 3 months ago in brussels, tunnidge came i expected alot of people but no i had the dance floor for myself and i could enjoy the music and the chilling vibe!

This has been a issue for me since around late 07! Thats why I don't go to big nights anymore 'less I am booked and even then, I spend most of the time in the smoking area or if theres a closed off bit for artists.

I ain't paying 10-20 quid to go get elbows in the face when I am trying to skank out cause some lemsip has had to much cheap larger and grew up listening to, to much metal as a child.

Being in London I luckily have the joys of going to little nights in the week what have good crowds and its also a good chance to link up and meet people... Dubsteps got way to big these days for me to enjoy going out on a Friday/Saturday to a dance.

Meh, tbh it's not my cup of tea - and I've been to enough aggro dances to know how uncomfortable it can all can be. The reason I don't moan is that I know stuff similar to Datsik is made for people who like to get aggressive like that. If you go to an event with a bit of the more aggressive stuff playing you've just gotta realise that no one's about to skin up and burn some incense, thinking about your personal space. That's not what their music reflects.

If Jakwob likes it and his fans like it then what's the problem? If you don't like it it's as easy as leaving it be tbh. No need to let it get to you.
