TopCatt wrote:Can you explain the layer channel??? I dont get it

basically a way of chaining multiple channels together (ie you select children for the layer channel) like 2 diff sampler chans etc and whatever you play on the layer channel the children channels will play
edit: and as far as what chubbs is saying it'd be a lil more complicated unless your layering hits from multiple breaks but works with rex too

^^ What I sometimes do is use the layer channel to make the first kick and first snare of a sliced break trigger a seperate kick & snare. Just makes beat programming easier.
Another cool FL feature is the peak controller - put it over a percussion track, say and assign it to say a bass filter cutoff so the filter moves with the percussion. Just an example but there's so many possibilities. And it has a LFO which you can assign to any parameter in your track.

always used FL, its simple and easy to use.
perfect for digital production, especially the option to use controllers is extremely handy.
NI Massive is a synth you all should give a try

I've tried Reason but to me it just seems like a REALLY good array of vst's with a bad sequencing vst attached to it. since i don't use another sequencer (cuz i'm broke as fuck) i love using FL. enough ranting!
a couple of remedial tips... Save a custom layout to a new folder that you've created in FL's templates folder. Start FL, load template and close so the next time you open FL it loads YOUR template.
Change the the FL background to a hot picture of Jessica Alba.
Quick and easy Subbass: use 3x, drop the top two course (crs), x out the vol knob on the 3rd, fool around with the tuning for wobble, then punch away like a blind retard on the lower keys (no offense if you actually are).
Try an Lfo on the Color knob of the Blood Overdrive in addition to your other lfo for more variation.
when Blood overdrive isn't enough use the waveshaper.
ur a legend
picked the 3xosc put it into a channel
turned down the crs and both osc 1 and 2
turned up the volume on the 3rd osc
and then held one of the lower keys down and pressed other keys
my results

I cant really think of any little tricks at the moment, but I have a question about the 'circular panning law' (options - audio settings - project - general) Does anybody actually know what this does? Ive been told to always turn it off

but it only seems to make the project seem louder....
I used to always turn off circular panning law when I was writing (after reading about it on DOA) but to be honest, I think it has an adverse affect on the sound...
