your third post is a plug? cmon man!

You're a douche, cableguys make some TOP products and they deserve more recognition for it IMO. It's not like he posted it in the wrong section or anything. If a big time producer decided to register and made a thread in the appropriate forum promoting their latest album or w/e you wouldn't say anything about it now would you?!? In fact, plenty of people do JUST THAT.
Sheesh, some people.
And I thought *I* was an asshole

And I'm glad they make some of the top products! Contrats dude! Im happy, as I'm sure they make great shit. I would like to hear a compelling statement as to how their product differs from their competition, yes! Because I would like to make an informed buying decision about their product. But not a "shameless plug". Cmon! And I'm a douche for saying that? What, do I have to follow your code? You're a retard for thinking that! There was nothing productive in the post at all. All I heard is PRICE PRICE PRICE, and this is what you get for FREE! Cmon dude, sell me on benefits! I want to know why I should shell out more of my hard earned money on HIS product, if I dont even know why its better for me.

A company coming in here tell us about their deals they got going on, oh no the crime to humanity they're trying to get us to spend less money!!!
We have a couple of company reps who post here and have even gave us discount opportunities because yes they're trying to earn a living but still care about their fan base an such!
Cable guys make great products and have no problem 'bout them posting to promote deals and new products here because like someone else said, they're not some giant just wacking a add in computer music.. Even if its a copy and paste message they're still making the effort to attract the dubstep community, signing up to the forum because of (probably) google alerts and interacting.
You'd be surprised how few companies do that!

Thats great legend4ry. But I want to know about benefits too man! Perhaps you didn't read my response. I have no problem with the dev posting, but I could care less about the price. Im sure they make amazing software too. However, instead of making a post as to what specials they have, why not chime in and let me know how their product differs from their competition.
If I made a synth, you would want to know what it does right? You wouldn't just buy a synth from me because I just so happened to have one for sale, would you? You would want to know the BENEFITS of purchasing my synth from me and not from somewhere else. Thats why I was skeptical. Please read my posts. Thank you.

Surpised noones mentioned Sonalksis TBK, best native filter IMO. Quite reasonably priced too.
The UAD moog pisses on everything else from a huge height tho... but you need a UAD card to run it. Amazing distortion too.

He's not gonna come round your house and set it up for you ffs. You gotta do *some* of the leg work yourself.
I don't see what's so 'shameless' about advertising a product you worked hard on. Like I said, would you really never advertise your tunes if you wanted to sell them? If you had a used car you wanted to get rid of would you take an advert out in a newspaper or would you just wait for someone to randomly happen to knock on your door and ask if they could buy your car? You wouldn't put pages of pictures of the car and detailed essays on how it drives in the paper either would you? You just put the product and the price because all you're doing is *letting people know it's there* so that they can decide if they want to take advantage of the offer or not.

Funny enough, I'm not asking him to.

Cmon man... a bit different situation here. Thats just plain retarded.

And thats fine bro, but the OP is asking about peoples favorite filters. Of course Cableguys is biased. He developed his own product. But why not tell why his product is superior to others out there? Maybe because I'm in sales, I get it. A little sales 101 for you... You sell on benefits, not features. Thats what I was saying he should do.

maybe the dude made the filter to be his favorite plugin?
i know if i spent lots of coding hours and time i'd have a direct list of what i'd want in a filter that would make it my favorite after i finished designing it.

+1 for Volcano 2
I use Fabfilter's stuff a lot, wicked, wicked VST's. Pro-Q and Pro-C are my absolute go to's for EQ and compression, Volcano is a really powerful filter, and Timeless 2 is freakin' awesome for delay. Modulation options are off the hook, UI is gorgeous and sound is top notch.
Fabfilter =
