No shit, you've misunderstood the point of all the posts you just quoted. It goes without saying that you should try as many as possible before making a purchase so you know which one suits you the best. The point at the end of the day is that learning one DAW inside and out is infinitely more valuable than learning a tiny bit of several/moving DAW every time you think your tunes suck.

i could namedrop a couple vsts that seem to be popular on the production section of girmeforum... a lot of grime producers seem to enjoy romplers quite a lot.

to me, grime is more about a philosophy then the tools themselves.

I have checked the site a few times in the past but found the technical knowledge quite low there from what I saw. What VST do they like to use? not that it matters much I don't think.

The tracks I heard on that site by the forum posters were good attempts but sounded very amateur and dull.

If you can recommend any please give us a signal.

ur not gonna find anyhthing about ''how to make grime beats'' because noone knows... grime producers are hip hop producers... who rely on creative use of sounds and very broken rythmics.. and can jampack a lot of energy into one track...

its really more about what u can do with any techy sounding drumkit (and even, could be organic) then whats the proper sound to use... there's no such thing as proper sounds...

if i were u id listen to wiley's discography a couple more times and get crazy with any sounds i find..

This is where I think the majority of people making Garage and Grime are going wrong. They don't appear to be able to make a decent bassline:( All I hear is basic squares/sines with dist and LP filters with zero or very little automation so the bass sounds flat and un finished.

If people are not putting in the time to learn and create unique basslines then the track is going to be weak and sound like a million other internet forum producers making music with a mouse.

Dont get me wrong there are some people I hear making stuff I like with decent bass lines but most of them have been in the game a long time. Not new producers. This is just my opinion and I am always searching to find new stuff.

Any links to decent tracks by new producers please!

Everybody knows your ability to produce grime relates directly to what DAW you use... duuhhhhh

Yeh they are oldskool tho, I like them they sound decent. Alias are big.

Is there any forum posters who make stuff on this level tho? are Alias/Spooky regular posters on there?

Yeh that new Alias track is big too. Not heard that one till now!

Dunno anything about who Alias is but they have it locked. Their hi hats, hi and snares all sound decent. The stabs/melody also fit perfect as always. The bass is big and sounds like a decent Grime bassline, proper. Everything is there and he knows how to make a track when it comes to structure.

Other bits I heard on the grime forum just sounded really wrong. snares and hi hats that have no groove and dont even go together at all. Basslines that sound like they were made in 2 mins:/
