Papua New Guinea's one of my favourite tracks ever.
Also remember buying 2 album-length tapes for 99p each when I
was a nipper, both pretty good. Also both called Lifeforms, which
confused me quite a bit, especially as there was also an album of
the same name right? Can anyone shed light on this mystery?

Lifeforms is a two parter album, it could well be the album!
It came on double vinyl and double CD, so double tape would make sense too I reckon

Nah, almost 100% it wasn't the album.
Found the cover of one of the tapes:
Although the other one was a lot better as I recall....

Discogs only has one cassette listed for Lifeforms...

Ah, the other one was actually this:
And looking at the sleeve for the Lifeforms one it looks like a single:
Was definitely album Length though, like 60 minutes or something!

yeah - check the discogs page for the lifeforms cassette - both sides play the same and the tracks add up to a fair length so mystery solved.
