Oh ya, Marcus Intalex was pissed because he was planning on putting out a back catalog mix of the tunes on soul:r or whatever.

he got all butthurt because someone did a label tribute mix and realized taht the mix was actually really good and probably better than the shit he was gonna put out, and didn't wanna risk losing money on the project.

looks like a bit of greed actually, which is why there was such a large backlash on it

yes. but if I can't even have my fucking avatar, I suppose the NAME being there wouldn't work either.

because my friend done a remix of the Spliff Dub by Zomby.and put it on his myspace site. (bearing in mind its sounds nothing like original in any sense.
and Zomby said he wanted it removed,or he would sue. and various threats.
so it got me to think, about this matter.

Think that's slightly different if you do a remix of someone on the forum. Suing's bullshit cause the solicitors will cost more than any possible recompense but you should be at least basically respectful of other artists work in the community.

Having said that anyone getting too precious about their music which is made up of samples of other music really hasn't got a leg to stand on and is pretty hypocritical

Same goes with Mary Anne Hobbs / Plastician.. Radio 1
And Kiss FM.

Do that and you'll get sued no question about it. If you wanna rip tunes and give them away for free, I suggest you walk from this scene now.

The scene was built on free mixes and radio rips. Personally, I haven't lost sight of that.

i'm planning to upload a mix on here in the next few days, sorta introduce myself. I don't think that it is worth anyone's time to take legal action against me as i'm sure no more than about 10 ppl will bother downloading it
