I totally forgot about Body Riddle! The high point of his career i reckon, there are some decent bits on Turning Dragon, couldn't get in to his latest album at all though.

Helios - Eingya

Absolute beauty of an album, it sounds like the cover looks. Melancholic pianos, uplifting cellos, crackling rhythms, everything. And the production is top notch, without being in your face - this album feels very much alive. Every time I listen I hear some new subtle idea in the music. Perfect for waking up to, walking in the moonlight with and everything in between.

That Nicholas Jaar song is quality Phrex! Wasn't really feeling the other stuff I'd heard but now I may just give it another go -q-

Don't need to say much about this do I? The king of pop albums, every track is amazing, Quincy Jones is a god amongst mere mortals, etc.

Busta Rhymes - The Coming

One of my favourite albums of all time. Busta's flow on it is ridicuous, so consistent. Incredibly well produced, with some amazing lyrics.

There's even a couple of dilla tunes on there, whats not to like?

Recommended tracks: Everything Remains Raw, Keep it Movin', Ill Vibe.

Heprcam - Cohcox. Ambient, Experimental

The best thing to come out of japan since sushi. No lie. An incredibly uplifting journey through ambiance, melody, and emotion in which every individual track paints a clear and complete portrait that never loosens its grip on your interest if you have ever given the genre any kind of credence. Came out over 6 years ago but after I picked it up last year, as a whole, this shat on every other album that came out. Production wise, it isn't groundbreaking into any kind of new sound, but these guys (and girl, who lays down beautiful vox) are extremely comfortable on the whole spectrum and masterfully use simpler effects and layering to give you something that can't be anything short of a very well produced track. Now shut the fuck up and listen you ignints.

Listening to this album start to finish allow you to respect how well put together it was. I wish every album was put together so well.

But I guess this goes without saying.

Orbital: In Sides. First heard it half my lifetime ago and still to this day hear new things on it. And it properly works as an album- start to finish listening (although I prefer the first 1996 released version without 'the saint' on it).

This is off topic but that quote reminded of me of an album by Orbital that I think was written and/or recorded in a solar powered bus or something like that ha ha.
Orbital at their cinematic best.

yeah, i think they recorded 'the girl with the sunshine in her head' using solar power....one of their best tunes ever (think 'out there somewhere part 1' might be my favorite- although is a tough choice. was obsessed with orbital back in those days, shame they went a bit shit.

I have that dilema all the time. I think most of the time I prefer close to the edge though.

Saw Steve Howe play a load of stuff off relayer live in the village hall in the village my mum lives in. Weird situation but fucking awesome.

Awesome. Some of the guitar work in Relayer is brilliant. I'd really love to see them all get back together and tour so I can see them before they're all too old. I've seen Steve Howe with Asia, and I saw Anderson and Wakeman together when they toured years ago, but seeing them all as a unit would be pretty special.

Isis are one of those bands which if you ask differernt people what album is their favourite, you're likely to get different answers from all of them. Panopticon is the first album that made me sit down and appreciate the finer details in music and FX usage. Also taught me a great deal about space, pace and overall vibes. Smoke a zoot and listen to the album from start to finish, you'll have your minds blown multiple times.
