The reason I mentioned Chris Moyles is that the BEEB are never going to get treated with the same force that rinse will, never. Rinse is an ‘urban’ (sick in my mouth) station, and for me represents a whole lot more than just ***step.

Ashley I take your points mate, just thought you would be more FOR the voice of the underground. But hey ho, on second thoughts maybe I am making too much of a big deal on it, but would you rather rinse as it is at the moment? Or just another BLAND breakfast show like heart 106.2

I remember the first legal oneman show asbo was refraining from swearing and then got passed a message that said there where just 2 words he wasn't aloud to say.

yes pada, was going to make that point also, capo can you get rinse on your FM dial where you are? Because until they reach nationwide I don’t think they should be scrutinized as much as the bigger stations. My opinion.

as for the swearing, well it's rinse and rinse without swearing wouldn't be rinse in my opinion. of course the point that they cant allow only one station to do it is valid, however i doubt other stations would even want to inlcude that as their target audience probably won't like it.
or they could just send "warning, rinse fm contains strong language. if you think you might be offended, fuck off" in between shows, would break the monotony of hearing the same 2 ads on repeat for 5 minutes (wonder if they still do that, haven't listened for a while now)

i would say its more the point that you cant be suprised if you talk about that and someone complains, whether or not youre allowed to or not.

it's crap that they're getting scrutinised but if you're going to go legal then you have to take the good with the bad. you can't just expect to carry on saying whatever the fuck you want and not expecting people to complain about it. swearing at 10 in the morning on a community station is clearly not on

i just hope that rinse sorts itself out and the music stays good

You can't expect people not to call someone out for something they don't agree with just because they've agreed with something that person has said previously.

If my mate bought me a pint then turned around and punched a guy in the face for no reason I wouldn't just shrug and sip it.

I don't have a problem with swearing but if the licence says they can't and they want to keep it then they shouldn't, it's just a compromise they'll have to make.

But it isnt just the swearing thing they have had a go at him/them at, they also complained about him using a 'frail chinese lady' (lol) as a recurring character on his shows.

I don't listen to Rinse or any other radio, if I do, it'll be for Distance's show which is once every two weeks or Skrenga and Mistajam on BBC.

I listen to Benji B but iPlayer only.

The comparison does make sense, you're suggesting people should automatically side with Rinse based on their past actions. But people should make up their mind based on the current situation and not be bias.
