Ahh didn't notice you'd said that. I've probably got some cassettes of garage and house sets somewhere I recorded off the radio when I was a kid in the late 90s. Need to find them now I've seen this thread.

flat beat was 98 or 99. Remember seeing it on Amp on MTV while on acid in highschool and recording it on VHS to play over and over gain.

My friends and I all doing the flat eric head nod whilst driving around :P Good times

Loads of good commercial house tracks came out back then...

(indeed the album that this came off "Remedy", is amazing)

personal favourite from back then:

also the Zoom & DBX remix of that Chocolate Puma track was the one.

Basement Jaxx = House?? I'm terrible with genres, but really? House?
Also, is it good or bad that I have most of the tunes in this thread on CD single? / 8)

Their earlier material is very much house. They've moved on a bit as their popularity rose but they still turn out the odd 4/4 banger on occasion.

(Yup, got that^^ on CD single too!)
Remedy was the only Basement Jaxx album I really liked. Still listen to it these days ('see tune of the day' thread).
