I don't think theres an easy solution to this. On the one hand, nobody wants to see pages of skrillex threads, on the other hand we all want to ask questions about production techniques and sound design. Thats why we're all here right?

One suggestion would be that we have a group how to make this sound thread, where we maybe vote on what sound to recreate each time. Then we all work on it, sharing results, effects chains used, vsti's, presets and samples until we've cracked it 100%. This way we'd all learn from it, and it might be fun. Just an idea!

That is actually not a bad idea. :)

Agreed, I actually think it's an awesome Idea. The "How to make this sound" thread seems very cluttered, and not all that informative imho.

The way I see it could go is that maybe each week or whatever, a thread is made, where you vote on a sound to re-create, do it, then when the sound is cracked, lock the thread to keep it clean. Make a new sticky which compiles the list of sounds which have been completed.

Of course, if what I'm saying sounds like utter shite, ignore me. Started drinking too early :6:

Just an idea of how to take it, but yeah, really good idea VirtualMark :W:

You're definitely worse than Hitler but he was the most convincing leader the world has ever known.

Voted for completely happy nonetheless.

Lead by example : don't post in threads that are not relevant to you, stop ranting (not talking about you specifically), if Skrillex kinda threads are getting on your nerves don't read them, be constructive basicly.
Look all the great posts by Wub & Futures among others, that's what the forum needs, not much else.

Broooo! Definitely like the new modding! Just seems like your taking it a tiny bit overboard. I've seen one or two honest threads with real questions that I feel shouldn't have been locked. No offense though cuz dsfp has definitely gone through sone improvement

I really don't have a suggestion so I suppose I should have chosen the first option.

I have a comment though: the attitude of users in general seems to have improved tenfold this past month.
Big ups to Wub for his time spent moderating and also to the community in general.

Cant imagine any real complaints, even for the posts you locked, youve then taken it upon yourself to direct these people towards help

Excellent jorb!

Maybe one or two over zealous locks, but nothing major at all. Experience will handle that, and all of the people cannot be happy all of the time.

If people want there to be a vote on a sound to be cracked, and crack it thread, do it, make the thread, get to cracking.

call me cynical but imo this post looks like a cry for attention. A performance review after one week? Really?

You`d think Wub helping me to learn the Glockenspiel would have been rewarding enough for him.
