It`s very simple really.
Structure your track right from the beginning at the correct gain levels. (not actual visual structure but your gain structure)
You`ll find that by keeping headroom on all your channels, you`ll end up with a mix that is not in the red and clipping.
You`ll learn how to fit the sounds into place by eqing correctly.
Your results will also be repeatable because you will get a better ear for a good sounding mix.

ok i get it,i have been reading a few things about setting drums at -9ish and so on but on fruity loops do i set that on the mixer or on the box i have all my patterns in? i hav a feeling i shood do it all in the mixer?

mixer it is! if you do all the levels as is mentioned on the forum it seems to come out really quiet at the end,is this normal??
