herbalicious is on point with his selection all about the neo soul side of things

(check out the production on this one:)

The pop charts have obviously been oversaturated with some shit music being classed as R&B. But could you say the same is true for dubstep? Or for any other genre?

That cheesy shit that gets rammed down our throats is a big part of the UK sound, as far as EDM goes. <.<

Not saying that you should necessarily like it. But what else do you expect on DSF? A lot of dubstep producers grew up listening to that shit or at the very least, the musicians they're influenced by relied HEAVILY on samping that shit.
Heck yeah, man. Been going to the dude's myspace for years just to listen to that tune. It's still unreleased as far as I know.

That's a shame...It sounds sexier than the original.

Who the f**k said The Weeknd?

Weeerd? Seriously? You're coming with minimalist pop-RnB in a thread
that features greats like Marvyn, Isaac, Leroy, Maxwell, Erykah, D'Angelo and
Jill Scott?

Go get educated. Fool.

Oh yeah,
honourable mentions go to Rhian Benson and Amel Larrieux.
If I met a girl with a voice like either of those two I'd do anything
to have them sing to me in the morning...

...and I mean ANYTHING.

:o

I'll give you Brandy but even then that would be 90's swing - you can fuck right off with
Cassie - she was a TK Maxx model that started dating Ryan Leslie to get a deal then
ditched him as soon as she met Diddy. Nothing but Ho'-pop with auto-tuned vocals.

The Weeknd - Riding the coat-tails of Drake and October's Very Own... His recent mixtape
is refreshing agains the current trend - but it's nothing groundbreaking. I don't think many
would even classify it as RnB. It's experimental/mood music with his warblings over the top.

In the words of Dave Chapelle - Go get me a sugar cookie, bitch.

they are all part of the same continuum much as sweet like chocolate can be part of the same continuum as renegade snares, and they both have their own merit; if you cant see that then you are the one that needs to get educated.

That tune is beautiful. I don't know what it is, but remixes of Cassie tracks are, more often that not, very very good.

Also, The-Dream is the shit. LoveHate still gets love when I hear it on shuffle, fantastic album.
