100 bpm is hip hop and glitch hop. And KOAN sound generally uses a cheeky 98 bpm.
I find it funny when you get proven wrong by the guy that made the song...
Also, Sir Reso, you are a god.
Your "clean" distortion techniques really helped me
It's a variation of BPMs, and doesn't even reside in 100 for long. Why would you deem it as a 100BPM track?

Haha, smooth moves. Koan sound are fucking rinsing that kinda area atm.
Some shameless self promotion cause I've just started a little foray into this tempo range and everyone on the WIP thread blanked me.
Going for that bassnectar hip-hop wobble kinda feel.

sounds llike a late 80's early 90's pop/wobble hybrid very different
its that snare. they rinsed that kind of sounding snare back then in the pop songs, new kids on the block status

100 BPM is old news. The glitch crew have been repping 100-115 for ages, it's only recently the dubstep people have started moving in that direction.
For what it's worth I don't really see the point, why not go the whole hog, jump down to 85 and make some real hip hop y'know.

im at 95 right now for two tracks. fuckin awkward cuz it wants to be 94 or 96. doing rap vocals and straight hip hop beats. I wish i hadn't rendered everything at 95, it just seemed right at the moment. dunno why i feel like even numbers are better, but 94 woulda been proper laid back and 96 woulda been proper aggressive and upbeat. I feel like a fool but i'm gonna try to make 95 work for me.

Start doing shit at 70. That way, if it doesn't work out you can add a few more drum hits and BOOM you're into 140.

KOAN sound don't sound too much like Glitch Hop. I've never, ever, ever heard a Glitch Hop artist match that style. I have no clue what genre they are, but it's not really Glitch Hop in my ears -- BPM wise, maybe.
