No need to get malicious about it, (Real name edited *** MODS. Read our privacy rules.) isn't the first person I've heard through the grape vine telling me stories about these guys after he initially told me what was happening and I went and asked around.. I think the point of this thread was to make sure no one else gets caught out by them.

We all hope everyone gets paid what they deserve of course but lets be smart about it and don't be as thuggish them.

Yeah this thread was defo required, and biggup for carrying on even with all these set backs.

I dont think people should go around being vigilantes though. It would be very counter productive and wouldnt help Matt's case at all.

Cheers for all the support everyone, was worried that posting this thread could end up making it look bad on my part. It seems that its the opposite though, so really appreciate all the support everyone! I think my only option left is to continue trying to spread the word about them, re posting something similar on other EDM forums etc. I will still continue to call them and email everyday as you never know sometime down the line they might get so fed up with hearing my voice and give in and pay lol. :w:

That is harsh :(
Did you not sign a legally binding contract or something before handing over £700 though?

No man, it was just a done with invoices, statements receipts etc. According to consumer direct in this kind of situation the quotes, statements and receipts all act as a contract of the product. So either way it was not professional on their behalf to say the least lol. There was however contracts signed etc for the distribution for ORTS001, which they completely broke lol. The contract stated I would see updates and statements every month. I have never seen one, or any accounts like I mentioned in my post.

for those of you who dont know... keynote used to be load media... i was with them before and during the name change... they led me on that they were going to press and distro my 2nd release for months for them to finally tell me that the tunes (all the widdler) wouldnt sell. go figure the person who told me that just started there and doesnt know shit about the genre... so i gave up on them entirely after i was lied to for months...

and oh yea... they told me that my first vinyl release didnt do so well in sales.... yet its fuckin sold out everywhere.... hmm... sounds like they sold ok to me...

Hmmmm bit harsh. Patronising to say the least. "Deep"?! nah we aren't talking about the Orientis musical output here, more the fact that daylight robbery has been committed and the legal route isn't going to solve the issue at hand. It's a total piss take.

I get what you mean but don't think its gonna make the Orientis crew feel any better when your basically saying you feel better about your own label situation because someone else is less fortunate and has been totally screwed over.

If that was my 900 sterlings there would be some serious car tire slashing going down. Mother :q: 's

invoices and receipts are binding contracts, this is exactly their purpose... to protect you. I don't know the legal system over there, but you should sue them for the thousand bucks in small claims or whatever it is. Shouldn't even need a lawyer.
Seems like a predatory sham of a business that deserves to be sued and pay forward the damages it caused.
=\ good luck

Cheers man! Yes exactly the invoices and receipts are classed as a binding contract. Unfortunately according to consumer direct and the information received from citizens advice, even if I was to win the case with this evidence it's still classed as a civil matter rather than a legal issue. It''s crazy how it all works here, hence why it seems somewhat a waste of time and money taking them to small claims whens there's still a high chance they wont pay up even after winning the court case.

If your going to press your own vinyl should pay a pressing plant and use a larger distro with a good reputation ffs, if your not sure ask around first. Fucking glad I changed my mind about accepting a P & D with these guys had enough drama in the past on the distribution front this kind of bullshit is bad for all artists on keynote waiting to hear (Name Removed) excuse for this one.....
