I don't really constitute 1 cat from the US blowing up and leaving us to move to the UK a stateside scene... dig?

I know that the midwest is loving dubstep/grime... maybe not the larger audience, but if the price is right and we can afford to take the loss in order to build up a scene here it could be huge.

right now, dubstep is pretty bleeding edge in the states... only snobbish vinyl collectors and people who dig for hot tracks even know that the UK has a scene for anything but "dumb n bass"

and outside of a select few, noone knows who Nice or Vex'd, etc are...

I'm personally in Philly, and we already have people on the broken beats and bass tip--just time to branch out and kick it wildstyle.

I am down to share airfair and booking fees in the PA, Boston, Nyc, MD, DC area...

thats slowly changing, i personally dont think dubstep needs to blowup in the states.it just needs to have a good "core" fanbase that are dedicated and willing to travel a bit to get to shows and represent.

I agree. I think that it would be fine to drive several hours to get to a show. I have no problem... but seeing the lineups that the UK has for these styles makes me sick.. we are totally sleeping on an amazing sound out here--as usual.

The problem with the states is; no supprt. There are a bunch of guys on this board who could get a venue with no problem, but then you have to think, if said venue could take the weight of this music. That said venue would be large in size and I don't know if any of us could fill it. I think Dave Q has done a great job getting the word out to the east & west coast for support. The last time I saw Joe play in D.C. kids were walking around just looking @ each other, when he plays @ Dub War in New York it's a party. Our friend from Philly needs to get with Joe and Dave and come up with something. There are a couple stateside heads very much into this sound, I just thank Joe Nice and Ricky Ricardo for introducing me to this sound 3 years ago. One thing Joe does; is try to get everyone involved. Remember; "5" for the REWIND!!!!!!

auralassassin.... you're in Philly?

Dev79 and I throw "get IN", (which was at Silk City for the past 10 months and before that at LaTazza)...... we've had Plasticman/Vex'd through.

We also did the Run the Road 1 (w/ Jammer, D Double E & Ears) and 2 release parties.

http://www.seclusiasis.com

We play a big mix of grime/dubstep....since Silk has closed we're now moving to TriTone. (Wednesday, April 12th....1st night there)

get at me on AIM: mdmap2p

I'll get you sorted out with some demo's and hopefully with some funding to bring some big names through town. I have some huge plans for the area... I've basically spent the last 6 months in my home studio producing tracks... can't wait to get out to NY for DubWar!

Hi, I've emailed others before... but I'm in Minneapolis and ready to take on a date or two and share airfare for someone worthwhile and reasonable... Can't spend a lot of time trying to track down who's doing what/when right now (+ I hate agents) - so this is your notice - if you are planning a show stateside and artist wants northern exposure, get at me pls!
