As Craigus says, No Uniform has been running for some years.
We work with many different genres. Next Wednesday we have Lunice playing at the Harley, as well as having our major line-up at the end of Oct. Add to this we have Hyetal playing live on Oct 22nd. We were also heavily involved in bringing the Hessle Audio takeover to Sheffield which has all 3 founders of the level as well as Shackelton Live.
Sheffield is probably going to have it's most exciting year for dance music in a long time. So many nights bringing really good artists to Sheffield.
FWD vs Rinse is coming to Sheffield in Nov amongst many other things.
As mentioned before there such nights as LSS, Bad Taste who consistantely bring ace acts to Sheffield.

Really looking forward to that Hessle night. And Mala at the weekend on that system justifies the price
On a whole though the city is OK. TTC put on good nights but they are not always to my taste. And the crowds they draw are often student based.
Keep it Steel is a night pushing music in the right direction. There next night is gonna be announced in the next couple of days

been in sheffield a few weeks now. the scene's alright, you just need to do abit of looking about.
Tuesday club put some good nights on but the crowd can be hit and miss, saw shy fx the other week and it was sick but b.traits played before his set and there were homophobe. moshing. Crowd depends on the line-up obviously, room 2 usually has better vibes, saw jacques greene in there the other week and it was sweet, at the front with plenty of room. they also have david rodigan and toddla t on tuesday which should be sick. dark sky, jamie xx, oneman and bodikka all in the next month too.
Mr scruff is playing the leadmill this thursday, as said check out no uniform/standard procedure/its a myth/liquid steel sessions/ etc. Psyched for the hessle audio and rinse v fwd night!
There's also a new dnb/dubstep night starting on the 24th at the viper rooms called displace. dont know much about it but might be worth checking out. Peace!

kirky wrote:Just moved to sheffield for uni. Looking for nights... is it really as shit as i think it is?? Or am i not looking in the right place... any guidance towards decent nights/clubs would be much appreciated, as everyone i've met so far is all about FRESHERS!!

, at which every night I've seen advertised is a big pile of crap. Looking for like-minded people and: dubstep (not filthy screechy crap)/dub/dnb/jungle/reggae/garage/free parties etc.

I know this sounds stupid but facebook. A lot of promoters heavily promote on facebook with weekly events. I'm in my 2nd year at Manchester uni and i now get invites almost daily to events. Its especially useful if you haven't found many people with a similar taste in music because you won't have that word of mouth aspect.
