Decent idea - I'd be up for kicking it off!

why not analyze and break down a professional hit of the month, week, etc.

chord structure/composition, frequency analysis, arrangement, discussion, vocal delivery(if any), sample sources, mixing techniques.

what made it a hit?

just a thought. :t:

I'd love to see this. Would be nice in video format, too.

Similar to the producer masterclasses.

Sounds alright. I wouldn't mind something like this taking place.

Because without the artist who created the track being involved, it'd be purely speculation as to what exactly takes place.

really like this idea...

another thing we could do, is make the project files downloadable (for a small fee)

That would place the emphasis on DAW specificisms though - a track done in Logic's files would be useless to an FL user, for example.

As I've stated already, trying to use an existing track where we don't have access to the project file/producer would be largely speculative on what is actually taking place.

Good idea! It's always nice to see how other people might go about their music. There are many paths to achieve different sounds, and it wouldn't hurt to pick up a few ace techniques (I'm sure everyone on here has at least one neat, quirky, or just straight-up jenky practice in their workflow). KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

I love this idea. I think PMing you the track would be the most efficient way to do it. You could also just start a thread where we can just post the screenshots and explain what's going on in the song. Does it have to be a dubstep track? I'd be down to submit the song in my signature.

Cheers for the feedback guys, reckon this is the best way to go :D

Right, let's get this thing moving then, shall we? If anyone wants to submit a track to this, drop me a PM with the following;

1) Screenshot of your arrangement
2) Soundcloud link to the track

Make sure the PM is titled ANATOMY so that I can keep some sembelence of order in my inbox  Also, be aware I might not get back to everyone straight away, so bear with me ;)

So if I gather, youll be our quality control element? :Q: Good shit. needs that aspect.

Shall we include a text breakdown of wats going on in arrangement shots, or just save them for the respected thread, when questions arrise?

Mixer shots would be useful as well, no?
