Think I'm just gona go with an Xbox. You can get the new model 250GB hard drive brand new for about £160ish so that's probably my best option. That way if it does decide to shit itself I'll be covered under warranty.

Got to be the 360, hands down the better console.... Although I do think the built in Blu-Ray player is neat.

Heavy Rain was interesting the first time...I wouldn't spend money on it, tho, definitely rent that if you go with a PS3.

There's this one part in it which might actually be the most annoying part I've ever played in any video game.

I'd say the PS3 is worth getting for Demon's Souls ALONE (on top of the other heady exclusives), but you likely won't believe me until you play it.

People call it the hardest game of the past 10 years, and while that's somewhat arguable it essentially just comes down to the fact that Western games coddle players, and Demon's Souls is on some soul-crushingly unforgiving (yet ultimately fair) shit.

If you just wanna play Skyrim and Battlefield 3 - i'd PC it, thats what both companies are known for doing - making perfect PC games.

Console wise; I have both and hardly play either due to there only being a handful amount of games worth playing on either...The only thing I would pick a PS3 over a Xbox for is the fact you have all those old PS1 games on the sony store though, my PS3 stopped reading disks after a while and they wanted 130 quid to replace it (even though I the serial was all legit, had receipt and everything) about a year ago.. So now I just buy off the market place.

Had my Xbox for about 3 years now and not had one problem, at all. Live isn't that bad (its what, 50 quid a year?) but it does take the piss a bit the fact theres hardly any free content other than a few really bad games and videos...Thats my only beef with Microsoft.

Either way I don't know how people can sit and play online on consoles for hours; its the most boring gaming experience in the world, the codecs suck on both consoles when you talk to people on mics; the mics suck too (even those expensive headsets) and the lobbying system is probably the worse invention known to man and thats not even speaking about the sad excuse for a control system for practically every game, how people can aim with those joy sticks on FPS games i'll never know, nor do I want to either... i'm actually getting a bit angry just thinking about it hahah!... I guess I am just a die hard PC gamer, who likes connecting to servers, using my SM57 to speak to people on Mumble and having a fast, clean, glitch-free gaming experience. I am yet to experience that on a console. :A:

doesn't the RROD refer to some errors with the fan?

on a similar note, anyone know how to repair an xbox 360 surrey/london area.

my mates just moved to malta given me his old one said the fan was broke.
havn't actually tested it yet.

TBH PC games are pretty damn far from glitch-free.

Hardly ever come up with problems on Starcraft 2/world of tanks apart from imba-ing. Quake3arena and Counter-Strike are the only other games I play and the bugs in those is what makes them fun

I was talking more about recent releases where almost everything is a console port. See: Dead Island, Deus Ex.
