Was watching to atrocity taking place on TV round a mates house while waiting for a phone call from my best mate who was flying out of NYC that day.

The plane going to SF that hit one of the towers, was a flight i had planned to get on a trip round america I had planned, but didn't go on.

I was 12, I remember making homework or some shit but going downstairs for whatever reason and I saw my dad watching TV. He had JUST turned it on and I couldn't see the twin towers, so I didn't think it was New York... o.o

Just got one of those BBM chainspam message, of a little icon of a plane, then a crosshair, then two buildings. How lovely.

i remember lots of people doing it at school in the weeks after the incident.

Was walking down a road in Croydon somewhere, wondering why so many people were crowded round shops with TVs.

At a mates gaff after school watching TV, distinctly remember his older brother coming downstairs and saying "There's going to be a war over this"

Was being taken home from school by my mum with my best mate and she told us. Didn't really properly understand what had happened until a few days later.

I came home from my day at school in P5, expecting to put on CiTV and watch Art Attack and the like but was greeted with videos of people cycling and running from a wall of dust. I was only 9 at the time, had no idea what it was until a few days later.

I was 9, came home after school, mom was watching it on the news. Didn't really care about it and went on to play with my Lego.
Non-American 9 year olds didn't really care about planes flying in to buildings.

I was in second grade at the time, actually lived in the US, in Illinois.
We were in maths class, school had just started for the day and we were getting our shit out to work.
All of a sudden vice principal runs in and whispers something to my teacher.
Class cancelled, we all watch tv for the rest of the day, watching the news in the classroom.
Teacher cries.
Come to think of it we were a bit insensitive being like "WOAH DID YA JUST SEE THAT?!?!? I WANT A REPLAY LOOK AT THAT CRASHHHHH"

then again i was 7 so whateva.

played airplane in the schoolyard during recess.

quite the alpha day

+1
i came home from school and wanted to watch some cartoons when suddenly there was news on EVERY channel. i think i actually saw the second plane hit the tower then. needless to say i was pretty pissed off until i found a channel where they played some disney cartoons, not really what i was looking for but better than nothing.
then mom came back home, took the remote and switched back to news. man i was pissed off, and she was REALLY angry at me for not giving a fuck but i just didn't get the significance.

Was working - Pier 1 Imports...

Customers told us...

People at work who are normally dicks were acting upset...I was laughing at the irony as usual.

This may sound strange...but I wasn't that surprized..they had tried a number of times to bring the towers down..

Didn't really feel much till I got to watch the media reports
- and seeing the people coming out covered in dust..telling their stories

and the people jumping...horrifying.

I was more upset when the first episode with Iraq happened...with Bush Senior..
When Iraq invaded Kuwait..

...watching the bombing of Baghdad on television

I couldn't stop watching - couldn't believe what I was seeing..

Funny how these two SEPERATE things keep getting stirred together...terrorism in general and Iraq
I can only hope our people - meaning govm't/military/secret service...really know what's going on...
