If it's that sound he's going for bassnectar is the master of it. I'd really like to know how some of those similar sounds were made in this track:

Right after 2:45 it has all sorts of that effect that he's talking about, so much to the point that it almost makes me vomit, literally gives me an uneasy feeling lol.

Like lfo or envelope -> pitch and the same envelope -> lfo speed -> filter cutoff. So the wobble speeds up and down with the pitch. Sounds like the whole track is grinding to a halt then coming back up to speed.

slow attack on your amp envelope. keep the lfo on the filter/etc going independently of the volume envelope.

yeah, de-syncing lfo's and having their rate change according to an envelope/another lfo is a really good technique. noisa, feed me, etc use this.

Hey could you or someone else talk more about this? I see what you are saying, but maybe a little more indepth explanation... Sounds like a rly good technique and I would like to hear more, maybe post examples and explain patches you may have on hand or something?

If you have a midi controller with some wheels or knobs you can experiment with the sound. In massive you want to start out with your basic dirty bass sound and lfo wobble. Then assign your midi control to one of the macros. The macro is routed to the pitch of the oscilattors so the pitch goes up as the knob is turned up. How far you want the pitch range to be is something to play around with.

This same macro is also routed to the speed of the lfo in charge of the wobble. And again play around with how much you want the wobble to speed up. Then just crank the knob back and forth listening to how it alters the "speed" of the sound.

In a song you would replace the macro with an long attacking envelope or a slow lfo. Hope that explains it, I don't have any examples atm but I can post one when Im home.

A lot of this sound you could create by just turning on your portamento. Then it's just a matter of automating the glide time/rate so that it slows down just before the note you want the effect to be placed on hits. Or you could just simply bounce the pattern out and then cut the part out that you want and just use it that way. I would personally probably go with the bounce option so that I wouldn't have to keep automating the same parameter throughout the entire song.

envolopes modulating LFO rates is like my new favorite thing to do in massive i had jsut started doing this like last week now my secret is out j/p its a cool tip. Ive started adding envelopes to alot of the other paramters as well in massive to help give more life to patches.

try high pass filtering?
