I don't like the vocal processing he does + I don't like ballads. He should do some more bass stuff for sure.

I dig his Self Title. I also dig his old EP's and singles. Just occupy different sonic realms and different places in my musical cannon.

I wish there was a measurement to how much I can't tolerate that James Blake record.
but theres not, my own personal disgust of such bafflingly exceeds all units of measurement including universes.

Production wise, I can use some of those drums and bass to make my own jam, which I have, so thats cool, thanx dude. I remember clearly Ramadanman playing what sounded like a james blake redux, it was astonishing. Those subs are super low, but why pull the Elliot Smith card to accompany it? Some OV my UBER sophisticatedly tasted friends have gone on about how unique the use and abuse of auto-tune, and all those wild production techniques. I guess it's just over my head.

I like other stuff in the same vain: Mount Kimbie for one.

yeah.. caught James Blake live at first ave last week.
'I never learnt to share' made me feel like I was in a Gaspar Noe film. fucking intense.
i definitely prefer his Hessle / Hemlock releases, but I respect him as an artist enough to not shit talk his releases that don't fit my current disposition. wanks.

To be honest it took me some time to adapt to his style.
I came from a rock, & acoustic background, so when I first heard I was like, "what is this?"
But as I came back to him recently, a lot has changed.
His style is so unique, & I love the fact that he can play his music live with a band.
Not many like James Blake in today's music :3:

One day I would love to work with him on a track or two..But until then, I'll keep on dreaming.

Yes bruv! Feeling you on never learnt to share live. James definitely has an excellent hand with tension, he applies it very well. You can tell he has a dance music mentality imo

Airhead is wicked on the drums too

His Air & Lack Thereof / Give a Man a Rod era tunes were (still are) absolutely amazing. Some of the most forward thinking dubstep I've ever heard. I like his vocal stuff too, you can tell he's not trying to write dubstep (could be stating the obvious here) I don't think it should be listened to in that context just because he's written dancefloor tunes in the past.
You can see why so many musicians complain about being pigeonholed.

I personally love Order aswell.. proved that he's still got the minimalist subheavy vibe lurking in his brain somewhere.

and that Trim harmonimix...

Anyway enough fanboyism. I dunno about depressing. Definately melancholy though.

Yeah but yeah but yeah but, his electronic explorations mix from 1962 contained the original version of RGB before the album came out

I never learnt to care
