Totally agree with you for the most part, but bird is pretty much the female equivalent of bloke as far as I'm concerned. Most women I know aren't offended by it or being referred to by it. Seriously getting tiresome. Very offensive, even to us straight folks who wish for peace and unity on this planet. I bet if I started running around yelling racial slurs, people here might have a problem with it--then why be a sexist bigot?
We don't want that, lets correct it, please. I happen to personally know of at least one person with an alternative sexual preference here, and plenty of others in the real world. I can assure you, you wouldn't walk into the city and start calling people porch monkey, or to the suburbs and calling people honky and cracker.
