I really enjoy GTA games but usually I just drive around sensibly listening to the radio, beat some one up when I get bored, have a shoot out with the cops and repeat.
GTA IV had some amazing songs on it, Fela Kuti especially!

San Andreas was way more fun for just driving around though. More varied terrain, huge fucking map, better stations (IMO), and not being interupted every 5mins by "Hello Nico, is fat cousin! You want go bowling?"

Did you ever play The Getaway? Perfect map reconstruction of central London
Shame the rest of the game was a bit shit.

innit, it was just the map that was good, apply gta physics to that map and it would be sick

i think some of them ended up working on la noire, but i might be wrong about that...
gta 3 and vice city (and to some extent, san andreas) were some of my favorite games of the ps2 era, but 4 just didn't do it for me. it was impressive, but the formula has gotten a little stale or something...the cell phone bit didn't help much, either. it just seemed like it was going through the motions, and when so many other games are doing the open world thing now (including previous gta games), i guess i just expected something more out of the series that kickstarted the whole thing. i'm definitely interested in seeing the trailer and keeping up with what they're doing, but i don't know if this will be a day 1 purchase like the last few were.

Get to point B from point A to kill C.
^that is GTA
having said that, it's thoroughly enjoyable. Also, 3 has never been topped

That'd be a sick mod for the PC version. Pretty easy to do as well.

i could do a street map mod of london on any GTA in like 2 weeks.... it's the textures that would be a bitch
that and animating the people to run like scared londoners and adding hoodies and trainers to everyone
