I don't care what you or anyone thinks about me. Their opinion about me counts for fuck all. I'm hated because I have money, I'm hated because I don't. I'm hated because I show pics of gear. I'm hated because I made myself a fortune sitting on a chair in my house with no help from the outside world. I asked my family and friends to borrow £30 when I couldn't even afford to eat, instead they forced me to sell my positions to Cash Converters for pennies so I could have a roof over my head. Then when I came into money, they hovered like flies and got offended when I told them to fuck off. That's why they hate me.

I don't have a care in the world for anyone with anything negative to say. You either like me, or you don't. Either way, I'm not arsed.

You're totally right.

It makes no difference whether you have a Virus or a Software Synth, if you're not a very good producer, then that's just the way it is. Whether you develop your knowledge and skillset on a soft synth or hardware it makes no difference. It just comes down to what the person prefers.

I'm willing to bet the first bits of gear you purchased you still use today, and probably will for life. Whereas software goes out of date, the synths will be around forever (so long as their kept in good condition and serviced).

Btw. Do you have images of your setup would love to see.

The gearslutz pics are fucking amazing! Some real big and expensive setups on there. They drop thousands on a mixing desk like it's nothing.

Yes, I still have the first synths that I bought in the mid '90's. A Roland Juno-106 and a Roland MKS-70 which is the pic you see in my avatar.

You can see my last studio setup in the "post the pics of your studio" thread around page 54ish. I have just recently moved, so my studio looks different now.

I'll be honest. Up until recently no it wasn't. I was far to busy to even utilize any of it, literally no time. But I always seen it as an investment. I've had to refactor my schedule to pursue my passion, which has always been music and it's only recently that the gear is being used as it should. Some people see music production as a hobby, something to do in the spare time. Call me strange, but I'd live in front of Logic. Literally. Not for fame, or money, but purely because I enjoy producing music. There will come a time when the music I produce will be up to scratch, and on form, but it's going to take serious dedication. I always knew the time would come one day when I rekindle the old flame, which is why I spent the money I had on my gear.

I'm super jealous just for one thing in your arsenal
