I honestly enjoyed the EPs released this year more. Distance, Dark Sky, Starkey, Shackleton, Roska, Scuba, Matty G, Silkie, Trim, Royal T...
Album of the year for me is Sully's. Was actually disappointed by Black sun.

I liked NY Is Killing me. The rest of the album, I liked the original better, that's why. But yeah, it should have been on the list. I didn't purchase it, hence it's not on there :)

surprised no one has mentioned Kromestars album. I thought it was outstanding. Along with LV's and Kryptic Minds

Kromestars album was better than i was expecting. I thought it was just going to be a collection of bangers but it actually had some good vibes. Can't sleep wasn't as good as one of us

All the Keysound albums have been great but I think Black Sun might just win it for me to be fair. It's Kode9. No-one can touch Kode9.

No one should touch Kode9, in fact I'm sure there's laws against that kind of behaviour. I for one would call the police if anyone did...

I am leaning towards Rustie having the best LP of this year. Its just outrageous yet charming. slightly cheesy but not in any way cringeworthy. Unrelated to dsf really, but I'm feeling Drake's album a lot.
Zomby deserves a shout though, Sully too. Wasn't overly impressed by Kuedo's album sadly, Damu did ok and I agree that Spaceape is only good in short doses.

Still, it's been a quality year for music :h:

It's such a close call between Sully, Rustie and Zomby.

2562 was also nice.

baobinga's joint ventures and nicolas jaar's space is only noise should also be added to the discussion imo - both underrated gems
also liked shlohmo's bad vibes.

honestly don't even know where to start this year, what with the weeknd tearing things up on that side of sound right now ... listing out all these albums makes me truly appreciate how good 2011 has been to us :i:

You just want him all to your self Blackdown ;-)

I could listen to Spaceape all day long personally, but the album's only 45 minutes long and he doesn't feature on all of the tracks, so surely that is a fairly short dose?

and yes, whoever said it, Baobinga's album was quality.

For me LV + Josh Idehen / Sully > Kuedo / Zomby. Possibly my top 4.

Author will figure, Kryptic Minds' album is up there too, and the Pinch & Shackleton LP.

Bah, tough choices.

Rustie is fast becoming a favourite for me this year. Though probably wont overtake Zomby and SBTRKT in my 2011 affections though. Must check out the Sully album too, all the love it's getting here.

Away from bass music, The Weekend (first one slightly above the second), Laura Marling and The Antlers are top of the tree for me
