Lots of reversed reverbed things.

Dubtechnoey chords and stabs made from pads. Field recordings and time-stretched, pitched down things for atmos.

That's pretty much my staple, eg:

Soundcloud
edit: Soundcloud being a biatch, dunno why it won't embed

Happy to deconstruct any of the sounds in that ^ if anyone into this particular style would find that useful.
sick tune! howd you make the technoey chords?

thanks mate!

I made them out of a pad sound that I made for a previous tune. I think it was a simple PWM pad that I made with Logic's ES2, layered with a bandpass sweep pad preset from Blue and loads of pitched-down timestretched vinyl crackle atmos/ambience that started life as an Apple Loop.

Layered about 3-4 different variations of the pad sounds and ambiences, then bounced out a minor chord - about 8 bars of sustained chord, with all the layers in. Whacked that in a sampler, then did the final filter modulation using Fabfilter Volcano - it's an LFO or envelope modulating the cutoff that gives it the 'stabby' feel. Probably one of my favourite sounds I've ever made, glad you dig it! :)
