ok these ultrasones then, i definatly want open back, because i like the sound better, plus ive been told theyre a bit better for producing, so if anyone can suggest me some open back ultrasones to look at for no more than £200....?

so many replys suggesting different cans! Was about to say im going with the akg k702's cuz alot of people rave about them, and they are very flat, NOW i read they need an amp to drive them properly?? is that true, excuse my noobish comment here but i have a new macbook pro and a decent external soundard, will that make any difference or has that nothing to do with running these headphones optimally ?

just got beyerdynamic dt770 prom 80 ohms... awesome headphones flat freq response esp in low end
