this man knows. If you want comfort, these are the ones. Plus I hate HD-25s cos the cups don't swivel - not so good for mixing with one can tucked between head and shoulder.
They don't swivel but you can turn the cups 90 degrees so its sits there well nice

25s are worth the extra money over the SPs.

I swear the sound quality is better too.

thanks for the advice guys i went for the HD25s. they sound awesome, and very comfy. not too concerned about the non-swivelling, as i can just move one cup off the ear and it stays on the head. nice.

my sonys always hurt my head. they bust and I also replaced with hd 25 - they are more comfy and don't tire my ears as much.

i was never into HD25s. have used them a few times but found the wires too tangly, not enought separation from BG noise and not enough bass

i used the sony 600s for about 5 years they served me well but are now worn out, not much bass below 100 hz

now i use beyer DT770s which are the best headphones ive ever used. cost £82 from turnkey. padded ear mufs which make tight contact with your head so your ears dont get tired

and most importantly - excellent bass response!!!

only downside is slightly uncomfrotable to waer one ear on / off. they're not designed for it i dont think. and they dont fold so when my record bag is full i have to carry them in A separate bag. worth it for the sound quality tho.

hd 25s are pretty amazing, much better than SPs

was using a pair yesterday and i kept doing a double take when i was cue- in
as the sound is so crisp i thought it was comin from the monitors and i'd left the channel up

Citronic Ultima HP500PRO - bass is stunning and they have big ear muff style things to keep unwanted noise out, and everything else in. Cheap too, about 35 quid. www.decks.co.uk

Got an old pair of Technics myself, no cause for complaint

hd25s are the ones if you've the money

cuts out external sound like nothing else, much more so than the SPs

everything replaceable too, if something wears down you can just replace that single part

and they're very satisfying for general use too, high definition and weighty low end
