So much this... can't stand Pioneer mixers, they should sell those things at toys 'r us or something.
I'm also sick of every cdj dj actually using the effects built into the djm... doesn't sound all that great and it's
way too obvious.

/fact rant

surly it's the DJ and not the equipment doing the mixing.

looking forward to upgrading from that same DJX700 to a Pioneer DJM 600
But I like that DJX700, not as bad as this thread has left to believe.
That mixer has a sweet 16 second sampler with built in pitch shift.
That's a long sample time, you can record over 8 bars with it, looping on the fly, and punch in the crossfader over it.

It's WAY EASYR to mix on those Pioneers though, and at the end of the day, that's what really matters,

don't drop the beat, but it really doesn't take super high end gear to rock the party, a good DJ can make the crowd cut a rug on whatever gear is in front of him.

Djing is like playing poker, it's the player who adapts best to the situation at hand who will emerge victorious.

Okay so I bought option 1!

Turns out the guy doesn't know how to type properly and it's 2 boxes *for* Vinyl he was selling, not 2 boxes of vinyl. Pretty scuffed up but perfectly working flight cases, much rather that than a bunch of records I'd probably have no use for.

Mixer's a bit of a state, but will do until I replace it, decks are in pretty much perfect condition! He also threw in a couple of Ortofon DJ's as well that he didn't mention before. The stylus on one of them is a bit knackered and needs replacing, but all in all, i'm well pleased!

Hi guys, wondering if you could give me some advice with some purchasing as well. This is definitely a different end of the scale and ideally i'd like to get 1210s but this may be a realistic option for now.

The dude is offering:
2 X Vestax PDX-A1S turntables, both with Ortofon Concorde cartridges
and
1 X Vestax PMC-03A mixer
for £150

Now i realise that this is some pretty old kit but from what I've read it holds up pretty well and is in good condition.
Atm im using belt drive numarks and basically the most basic mixer you can buy (it doesn't even have an on/off switch) and so im looking to upgrade in any possible way, and basically just want to know if this is worth my money?

EDIT: and if that's no good then what is the Numark DMX06 mixer like if anyone has any experience with it?

I strongly recommend saving for some technics. Nearly all of my mates who have bought cheaper decks have regretted it because after mixing on technics there really is no other substitute.

I know this doesn't help you much, directly anyway, so sorry about that.

Did you pay £500? If so i think you spent a bit too much, i'd have paid £400 - £450 max. I got my technic 1210 mk2s new from tottenham court road
in london 9 years ago. They was £325 each and i got the guy to give me £50 off. So i got my pair of new 1210s for £600.
Anyhow enjoy ya new decks mate.

Paid £500, yeah. To be honest, they were the cheapest I'd seen mk3s go for, considering they came with good carts and a stand etc.

9 years ago is a while ago, seeing as they've stopped making them since then, the price is always go up. The prices I've seen boxed 'new' Mk2s go for on ebay is insane. I've not got deal of the century, but I'm happy enough!

me and clifford used that DJX700 mixer on NYE, can't say i liked it.
mate has a DDM4000 but you have to treat it with care, if you start wackin the upfaders up and down the whole thing seizes and you just hear a big sqaure wave noise, untill you turn it on and off.

but offer 1 is a good offer, at least it'll get you by for now!

well seeing as 1210's are 600 plus each, and theyve stopped making them, what do you think the new 1210 standard decks is/going to be?

I cant see any other turntable replacing technics. They last for ever and even when the last one has been run into the ground in about 1483 years time everyone will be mixing on CDJ1,000,000 mk8s.

pansonic really shot themselves in the foot by making such a well-designed product that lasts forever and is easy to repair. there is really no need to buy 1200s new, in my opinion. I don't think I've ever even seen any other of the updated models (ie the mk5). and didn't they make a digital cdj version a few years ago?
