mastering loudness wont affect playing out, it depends on the clubs speaker system.. quiet tracks can be turned up on the mixer, meaning if your track isnt heavily squashed with compression and limiting then you can really grab your crowd by the balls with some dynamic range assuming your still decent at the old mixdown

Credits for Bangarang EP:
"... All songs produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Skrillex on the Mothership, all over the world, except “The Devil’s Den” produced by Skrillex & Wolfgang Gartner; “Right On Time” produced by Skrillex, 12th Planet & Kill The Noise; “Breakn’ A Sweat” recorded at The Village (Los Angeles, CA) ..."

So ya, he masters all his stuff but I'm pretty sure it's just a mastering limiter/maximiser on the stereo bus, that's it.

^ yea i know skrillex is way overused and old on this forum, but thats pretty impressive that he is still making good music (hasnt sold out), and did his whole EP on just his damn laptop from the production stage all the way to the mastering stage, only with some good headphones and no other gear, he doesnt even use any midi controllers. Pretty inspirational, to me at least..
