there's only 2 big record stores I know in pittsburgh where i go digging, and anytime i get out there i usually drop like $80-100...

but there's this old ass dude that comes to a flea market in mckeesport, pa every weekend, it's in an old movie multiplex and he has big stacks of vinyl, practically fills the lower half of a theater. I live right by there so i pay him a visit quite often over the summer

his prices are high as hell, but he has a little book with all the prices and he WILL NOT haggle at all, but will shave a few bucks off if you make a large purchase

last time i was there he was telling me about how his son tries to get all his vinyl off him (once he dies) but he says he'd rather not b/c his son never helps him with anything... it's actually kind of sad, could be Lifetime straight to TV movie material

i do most of my listening digitally so i can't really justify buying wax all the time

i get max one or two a month, generally only if it's vinyl only, wouldn't get vinyl LPs

im trying to build up a nice special little collection of relative rarities

Went with the £50-100, now thinking it's probably £100-150, toned down the big money discogs purchases though, and had to hold myself back from getting technics for about 3/4 months now.

You didn't have an option for £100-150 (but more for the added shelving you have to buy). Twice I've had to nip down to argos for new shelves.

went for £100-150, didnt realise it was so much, worked out that i bought 24 records in the last month - all singles mind - but i think that was maybe a big month, the next one will probably be less.
i absolutely love it though, i dont really buy clothes, aside from food/booze/bills it's basically all i spend my money on, and im not one for saving so if there's anything left before payday i stick in a little bonus order.

I've spent at least £100 a month for about the last 4 years, worth every penny though! Especially when your buying from actual shops, not online as it feels nice to give them some business. Also i find just looking at my record collection is like a comforting thing, it's kinda like getting a really big hug.

£51-£100.

My record collection is actually getting rather large now...I love it.

I wouldn't really mind but i ended spending about £50 a month just on shipping!

Am quite new to discogs, but its working out more expensive than anything else!

Yeah it's too bad that shipping is always so expensive. Especially because I pretty much always order my plates from another country...
I really hate it that there aren't any physical record shops near me anymore. There used to be 2 but they literally closed down in the month I started buying vinyl, that was bummer.

I probably spend around £40 - £70 a month on average... I always try and set myself a 'limit' but usually go over this. I never spend more than the 'retail' price on a vinyl though, I'm not the kind of guy who will drop £30 on a rare plate - if I missed it, I missed it (but if I can get it second hand on the cheap then why not!)
