My first gig was a 20 minute lazy-ass Ableton/MPD32 set in a fairly crowded club for my first single release party. It went okay. The sound guy was pissed of because the band before me refused to play quieter, so he forgot to give me a monitor and turn me up on the mixer. Aside from not being able to hear myself it was alright, I didn't fuck up. It turned out to be a really fun party anyways.
I don't really count that as my first show though, the first time I DJed was at a friend's night in a smallish bar. I played a bunch of my favorite music, but also learned that my city is not into Dubstep haha I cleared the floor with Flags by Goth Trad, but managed to get everyone back with some Burial. I mixed pretty well though aside from one track falling out of time while I mixed it in. It was a great night.
The first time I really performed was last Friday though, for my EP release/birthday party at a local Pub that I'm at all the time. It was fucking great, I did a live PA set, then Djed for a while, absolutely nothing went wrong (aside from the inevitable drunk guy who stood in from of the projector and yelled throughout my set haha) That was an awesome night.
