Im sure there isnt an age group, but being realistic not many people over 30 are going to be doing anything new and interesting if they arent already a household name already. theres 60 people, 30 for each 'term' with a term being 2 weeks. Unsigned people do get in yes, but goin on to http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com and go to people at the top, then search through each years and just search for participant to see the people who took part.

Thats a little bit odd because when I was watching some of the lectures, a lot of the people in the crowd seemed like they didn't know much

What do you mean by they didnt know much? About the artist? Cos not everyone there is going to be into and know of every lecturer.

Well yeah they were clueless about the artist but I just remember some questions about running a label and lowpassing stuff which just struck me as very beginner

Not everyone produces. You get singer-songwriters, MCs, Label owners, DJs etc. as well as the producers.

EDIT: Does anyone know when the lineup for the lectures will be released? Cos I'm looking forward to catching some of these online.
