kinda like how decent steak is worth the extra time, effort, and money it takes to produce it, rather than taking the easy, average way out and getting indigestion, but i think we're all on the same page here

i can't comment on meat but yah, same thing really.

Different Zedd
Also, IMO, I don't have a problem with an ARTIST using the sync button to play their own shit etc at their show, because they actually have the talent to make the songs and shit and they might not necessarily be great DJ's...
...DJ's on the other hand, playing other peoples shit, I don't think should use the sync button as that seems like cheating if not only are they not making the songs, but not even DJ'ing using any talent...
^My 2 cents.

What does the sync button even do? the one on my midi controller is broken, and I am quite happy about it lol, less temptation.

i listen to pop but i would NEVER pay to go see someone mime, i don't give a fuck i might as well spin your shitty autotuned album at home.

What actually is the difference, from an audience point of view, apart from the mixes being less likely to fuck up?
I dunno, it always seems like you need a sense of perspective if you think that playing a bunch of mp3s of other people's tunes that are automatically at the same speed makes you a CHEAP PLASTIC FAKE POSER the but playing a bunch of mp3s of other people's tunes and adjusting the pitch of them yourself makes you the next Beethoven or something. You're still basically poking a knob to get two tunes going at the same speed. It's not like some amazing form of free self expression. If you want to display your dedication to craft and artistry on stage, bring a guitar or something and actually play a tune.
Edit: or pay more attention to selection and blends and the stuff that actually makes a difference to the people listening rather than the stuff that demonstrates that you've learnt to perform an entirely deterministic and mechanical task to a reasonable level of competence.

It 'syncs' the beats, so that the kick drums are on, in theory meaning the mix wont clang.

The sync button only syncs the tempo, not the grid. If you want the grids to sync to you need to use "snap to grid".
