the amazing part of of these tracks is how minimal they are whilst still not sounding emptyscattybeanhead wrote:i see what he means. i was kinda expecting a bit more from the lads, nothing too amazing here imoRekah wrote:disappointing???cakeplz wrote:disappointing tunes from my favorite production duo
doesn't matter as i've got CHST 019 to keep me occupied
Boring???? i dont get some people on this forum, i know everyones entitled to an opinion but these tunes would slay you on a rigjoeki wrote:I have to agree and say this is boring stuff from KM.
I don't get why your saying that as if it's a bad thing, you actually want your tracks to be amazing on a rig and I know they made 1 of the best albums in 10 years but you can't make tune after tune that sounds the same, plus making that many tracks that are all the same would get boring hense why they've made something a little different.joeki wrote:That's the standard these days? How hard tunes would "SLEIGH" people on the floor? Sorry, but after 10 years I've come to expect a little bit more. Especially from a reputed act like KM who produced one of the best albums ever that did a lot more than just SLEIGH people on the floor.
This track is lazy. Get to know.
Yeah I can also understand. Sounding just a little too generic for me :/scattybeanhead wrote:i see what he means. i was kinda expecting a bit more from the lads, nothing too amazing here imoRekah wrote:disappointing???cakeplz wrote:disappointing tunes from my favorite production duo

I don't think he's saying that it's a bad thing for it to slay you on a system, but he's saying it seems that has become the standard by which a tune is judged as being either good or bad. I also understand his frustration as well and I don't really think this tune is anything different from what they usually make. I kind of feel like this track is just like all the other tracks. Personally I like every single one of your works that I've heard better than these, Knowledge.Rekah wrote:I don't get why your saying that as if it's a bad thing, you actually want your tracks to be amazing on a rig and I know they made 1 of the best albums in 10 years but you can't make tune after tune that sounds the same, plus making that many tracks that are all the same would get boring hense why they've made something a little different.joeki wrote:That's the standard these days? I think these are quite different from other KM tunes/stuff that's out there at the moment, bit of a techno feel. Lovely.
I said "bit of a techno feel", not that it's a techno track. I listen to techno too, and the soundscapes and the kick patterns remind me of the stuff Andy Stott among others makes, just at 140.joeki wrote:I don't particularly see how this 140 bpm track is techno at all. They've just left some more stuff out, hence me calling it lazy. That doesn't make it a techno "inspired" tune. But then again, I actually listen to techno.
Also, about the sleigh thing: obvious pun was obvious, but apparently not. Also not pointed at you in particular: but recently a lot of these threads have been popping up (Kormestar recently for example) where utterly generic tunes were praised to the limits just because they had enormous sub bass (which nobody is refuting here). But isn't it about time a tune needs more than just sub bass? A tune can have all the sub in the world and still sound generic. Haven't we covered that ground enough? <= that's for everybody individually to decide. I'm just stating my opinion but am amazed at some of the disbelief it generates.
This kind of tune Cyrus made x years ago. They themselves have covered this style extensively. I was expecting more, especially being released off the back of that wonderful distal album.

After listening to your tracks on soundcloud; I am kind of shocked at how critical you are being about these tracks!joeki wrote:I don't particularly see how this 140 bpm track is techno at all.
