highlights -

when the sun appeared friday and the site went ballistic

producer fridday night (i was fucked, it was nuts, the guy stage diving etc)

pinch early saturday (SICK set, spot on mixing, perfect)

mary anne jumping up and down like a loon, atmosphere was sick.

vexkiddy (so funny it was hurting me)

droon playing his keytar and giving Jasbof (my night) a shout on the mic

congo natty (after the andy c decable it was the only real dnb we got)

enduser (absolute filth)

coki (plastic bags, a 10 minute section of his set that was just insane, and when i spotted him in the breaksday tent in mala he was a very nice chap)

squarepusher dj'ing (only saw first 20 minutes, but he was sick, man knows how to mix FAST)

mala (perfect way to finish, great to hear him on the mic at the end, he looks like hes really enjoying himself when he plays which is always good to see, and he played spongebob + lean fwd as his last 2 tunes, again, perfect!!!!!)

the people (nutters, but so funny and sound)


lowlights -

the mud, friday morning was just incredible, rivers flowing through the site, i reckon it was about 2 hours away from being cancelled.

the andy c decable (2 hours late, he played for 10 minutes, jokes)

my phone gettin nicked out my tent while i was asleep

venetian snares walking off (mans a prick)

the people who didnt play for whatever reasons (skream/bass clef/loefah/andy c/cursor miner/jerome hill/mike forshaw)


bring on next year though

yeh Snares looked like a complete prick, dunno why everyone was cheering him when he was walking off.

who was playin in one of the random stages on friday afternoon wen people were gettin shifted about because of the overkill quagmire? That was one of the rudest dubstep sets ive seen in a long time fukin dope! Had a wickid time at glade as soon as the rain stoppped on friday afternnon and it overkill was no longer shut down, was getting mighty worried tho.

i think coki's only done a few sets recently - i'm sure he'll improve in time

someone tried to take a picture of him and he literally legged it as fast as he could.

vexkiddy were fucking hilarious, couldnt stop laughing and shouting 'Tally Ho' at the top of my voice!

My Highlights were definately Pinch and Milanese, worst point was Snares walkin off...what a twat!

lets hope Overkill can put on something other than Gabba and hard breakcore after 10 o clock next year...and no rain too!

phone broke, camera broke, all my clothes got wet on thursday, £70 disintegrated in my (piece of shit, non-waterproof, joe bananas) tent and i've got blisters the size of grapes on my feet

but fuck me what a cracking weekend

didn't catch all the acts i wanted to due to the schedule being pretty much entirely wrong, but wandering around munted catching bits and pieces of stuff i wouldnt normally listen to was quality.

pinch, mah and mala smacked it. freq nasty's set was RUDE as well, he's got loads of breaks-flavoured halfstep bits i've never heard before. shame they'd turned the sound down so low by that stage that people's conversation was drowning it out though

shout to graeme, cheers for the tent offer but i sorted it in the end. decibella, sorry for getting your hopes up about an andy c old school jungle set (where did that rumour come from?). good to see reso too, i was pretty wide-eyed by the time i bumped into you so apologies if i was gibbering like a loon

yes! that intro was the funniest thing i saw all weekend, i was cracking up through their set

mala, trentemoller and richie hawtin were the best for me

yeah i'm pretty sure that was coki's first ever publicised set, apart from occasionally going on the decks at dmz, actually i thought his listing on the programme was a mistake. it was sick though i love the way he played completely his own productions - who cares if he's not an expert dj yet!

malaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa that was the perefect ending to a sick weekend, huge respect to whoever booked him as one of the final acts on sunday.

mary-anne hobbes was playing awesome tunes too, i think that was all the dubstep i managed to catch.

It sure was an experience, the weather was a little too much at times but not when there was good music around to psyche the atmosphere, then it just looked like chocolate, even when sober.

Really enjoyed Mary Anne, Pinch, Tipper and Coki in the early hours of Overkill, real shame about Bass Clef and yeah, Richie Hawtin was fantastic.

Beardyman, as well as the Scotch Egg Band, also smacked it in their mental fashions.

Favourite of the lot though were the Trentemøller Live In Concert band, possibly just cos I'm a bit of a hardcore Trentemøller fan, but I really loved what they did to some of the chilled tracks making them danceable.

All in all a good weekend. Getting home was a bloody nightmare though, that coach that was meant to go back to Hammersmith never showed up. I gave up on it but apparently the rest of the crowd who remained waiting were taken back on that old London bus on the motorway, some standing, which must have been pretty death defying.

Pinch & Beardyman killed it & yeah Trentemoller was amazing live, prob the highlight for me. Freq nasty was pretty good too.

highlight for me was grabbin a bucket on sat an helpin clear mud from overkill, so pinch got on!

wicked set from mala to close as well. clark, tipper & bearyman made it worthwhile an all.

sound wis gash tho far too quiet in overkill, especially as the other stages were alrite for levels

Came all the way from Canada and was not dissapointed. Pinch owned it. Sick mixing, sick tunes etc. So nice to finnaly hear The V on a proper (albeit not really loud enough) system. Mah and Coki were wicked as well. Sadly ride left early and had to miss Mala in order catch a flight. Oh yeah, Enduser was a complete stunner. Focused, intricate and sophisticated. Seemed like most of the folks around me were so blasted and werent really getting it cuz it wasnt constant battering Gabba kicks and rave stabs. Oh well...

yeah i had to do that too. graduated from uni friday morning so had to mission it down after and walk through a river fully laden with all my bags/tent, was interesting

he kept wanting the soundsystem turning up but they wouldnt cos it was after 12 and they'd agreed to limit it to keep the locals happy. i think in the end he turned it up anyway and got cut off and just walked off the stage. bit of a tnuc really

did MAH play purely dubstep?
