Almost everytime I start on of these I realize that there is a sample that I have that would fit perfectly but I can't use it

You're doing better than me, I haven't had time to even touch FL since the contest started. Though 4 day weekend coming up should give me some free time

Digital audio is a just a ribbon tied to the end of a stick spun about by a little girl, be the little girl.

It's the antithesis of the 48hr contest. For the 48hr contest, you have no constraints on what you use or how long the tune is, but you have a greatly reduced time frame.
For the sample pack contest, you have longer to make the tune, but the limitations are put in place on samples and duration.
BloomingAudioLife wrote:alot of the samples in my track sound completely different because of effects, thought id mention that ahead of time
Shouldn't be an issue...we've always had an unofficial ruling in place that if a tune sounds like it has elements in it not from the sample pack, that a project screenshot may be requested to confirm authenticity...but I can only recall that being used once or twice at most in all the time we've done this.
