This limited crap pisses me really of lately, thinking about stop buying vinyl and go digital only. I have no time to look each day into the news and if you look one day too late it's gone. Getting tired of it.

if you have time to post this you have time to check your vinyl merchant of choice. i have never seen any recent release to sell out in less than a day, so there's really no excuse

Well yeah if it would have been released this week, I would have been able to buy it. I don't think it was available more than 2 days at the stores I buy regularly from (Clone, Decks, Chemical). However, I hope they do a repress.

Surely if you know its coming (as they usually do announce a release date in advance) you could plan ahead. Especially with the likes of the forum it's not exactly hard to keep track of release dates and keep up with up to date information? Although yes it does happen but usually it will appear on a certain site out of no where then over the next week all the other retailers have their stock in

Limited vinyl is pretty much the only upper hand small DJs who don't produce and can't get unreleased tunes have on each other (apart from the obvious DJ skills of course). Then again you only seem to notice this and appreciate it if you collect vinyl yourself. Does get frustrating if you miss stuff and have to buy it at a hugely inflated price but I think thats the reason I make an extra effort to keep up to date with the music, listen to more radio shows, read more on forums like this, check record stores and websites as often as I can.

Tape compression = best sound
60s/70s/80s... mmmtape. The recordings were such high quality it sounded live.

Not sure why people are bugging out about tape so much? Mastering to 2 track is still common practice in the industry.

Yeah I'm just a tape nerd, collect reel to reels and such.
I dunno about these guys, but bouncing to tape is still fairly normal. Someone mentioned selling their r2r to Addison Groove (or might have been Blawan) recently.
