Sometimes I break out into free verse and start quoting Chaucer. FAR TOO MUCH GRACE FOR THIS PLACE.

i try playing some guitar, piano (anything OTB is good), just to get off the computer and relax without pressuring myself to create. but still harping on relatable skills and ideas. Same goes for just listening to music. don't TRY to "get inspired" by it, just enjoy it and the stuff you like will influence/inspire you later.
besides that, trying to do things that make you better in general.. won't directly make your production any better, but maintains the ethos of motivation and self-improvement while avoiding the computer screen for a bit. Also encountering other people, situations, etc in daily life gives you thoughts to interpret, stories to tell, all in all just going about your business might eventually lend itself to the production of a new track. Maybe draw a picture or write a brief about what your next tune oughta be
stuff to do ITB when you cba to produce: browse and organize sample collections, categorize by qualities and lists of favorites.. open DAW and improve on your template project file so that next session, your template kicks ass.
play with some sound design, without the pressure of writing a tune. textures, impacts, rhythmic loops, fuck with it. Fuck with some effects plugs you haven't tried much yet. make some patches. etc. etc.

gym, watch movies/anime, beat off, play video games, skateboard, beat off, sleep, get high and turn on all the blue LED lights I have and sit in the dark listening to sick tunes, browse DSF, pet my dog, occasionally attend class and do school related stuff.. typing this had made me realize I'm a completely unproductive individual and I love it.

seriously, physical movement is really great. Even if you don't realize it, sitting down for prolonged periods of time can kill your creativity. Go for a walk or something, come back and sit back down and you'll feel fresh and have new ideas, as well as hearing your tune with a new perspective (it's hard to be objective if you're immersed in it while you're working on it)

As inconvenient as it can be, I've always kinda fancied payin for studio time. I think if you'd paid for a fixed time in the studio, you'd rattle through shit. Cause when you're just in your bedroom (as I would assume a majority of folk on here are) it's so easy for your workflow to go to shit.
