I'm just illustrating the point that anything other than full resolution files is unacceptable from a professional point of view

Many OS have easy ways of seeing information in .wavs relative to .aiff (open in QT or iTunes is a drag) The AIFF file has identical quality but many people like .bwf "Broadcast wav" as well. It is a good standard as well as being high resolution.
