That said though, Ableton is also great. But it's not like Ableton is automatically gonna let you do a bunch of stuff you couldn't do in FL. Tbh you can really do more or less everything with anything. I might make the swap just to make it easier to gig live in Ableton though.
Skream, Benga, Cyberoptics... etc too. Although many of the people listed use Ableton too (but only for live performances)

Iv used FL, Ableton and now i use Logic. Although I love logic I still miss FL's piano roll, step sequencer, sampler and the granulizer. Logics plugins and mixer in FL would be orgasmic.

Regarding Ableton, i hated that all the build in effects and racks all looked the same and were stuck at the bottom of the page. I also thought that session view was useless and preforming with Ableton is a bit of a gimmick.

Its all a matter of taste though...

I'm getting the feeling that those people you've mentioned are the artists of choice for many on this forum, hence why the 'how do I make this sound' thread rarely has anyone asking about anything except how to make painfully bad bass noises.

:bins:

To the house section I go!

Fair point I suppose but I seriously doubt that dubstep is less demanding on the DAW than house is. I could be wrong though, only ever made one serious house track.

But dude, Madeon is legit D:

A daw is a daw is a daw.

If you have a real skillset at all, moving from one DAW platform to the next should NOT be hard at all.

May be vaguely true with the top 3 or 4 daws, but if somehow I ended up in a situation now where I'd only be able to produce in Garage Band or Acid, I'd probably punch my monitor and quit music.

Id like to see you jump into Renoise. Bring your calculator.

Yes you should frown on Skream.

That make sense.

I like Renoise but it can barely be considered a DAW really, only in the last year or 2 has it really started to cross over from tracker land.

@Attila ACID is actually pretty good, it's pretty much the same as Cubase or Logic minus the nice interfaces and plugins.

I used FL before Ableton, but I tried and then I more liked that program and Live was more suitable for me and made my work easier and faster. :) That's why I like Live. Also FL is a good program too.

How long have you actually used FL for?
Also, define "destroy"

Seriously, Mount Kimbie, XXYYXX, Ramadanman/Pearson Sound/Maurice Donovan, Skream, Benga, Feed Me/Spor and countless others are proof of the fact that "You're not gonna go anywhere with FL studio" is a false statement.
