Ive seen you hate on bare people lol, but im with you, I aint to impressed with this guy, even the group stuff he does with his mates sounds exactly like a mount kimbie track. Theres just nothing ive seen of his tracks yet that make him stand out from the tracks he is ripping, so until he starts doing summat a bit different I aint gonna be into it.

I don't 'hate' on many people actually. I think the quality of music thats coming out of the UK underground right now is through the roof and i'm really happy about it, BUT, there is no need at all for the level of attention this guy is receiving. I wouldn't want to go to a club and be dj'ed to by a 15 year old. I can't really tell you why, but that just doesn't sit right.

The tunes are great. For a 15 year old it's very good production, noone could deny that and I certainly wouldn't. He makes better tunes than I do by a massive long shot, it's just not groundbreaking like many are making it out to be, is that not fair to say? It's just my opinion.

more like 3 weeks mate...

I agree he's blown up a bit but he's being recognised by the right people if you ask me.. Its not like just some hype on the internet but hes getting support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Swamp81, Skream/Benga (who know their shit regardless) and then people like Four Tet pushing remixes.

I think this is one of his best yet. He could be something large this time next year! Anyway... im feeling and would undoubtedly loose my shit to this if I heard it out.

Sounds like just another Boddika & Joy O tribute band who ticks all the right boxes

Fake 303 / 808 bass - check
Berghain style 4/4 - check
Sampled Rave Stab - check

Just goes to show that people don't even bother diggin through the hundreds of thousands of techno releases over the last few years to find similar but better tunes , have swamp really signed his stuff? But then again swap were never really an original label to put out original material to begin with.

This. If half the people that claim to be techno fans on here actually listened to techno that wasn't pre-approved by some former dubstep figurehead on their radio show where they try to pretend dubstep never happened, they'd find they've been missing out on a seeeerious amount of music!

Akkord has gotta be the biggest and best (worst?) example of this.

where's a good place to start with techno similar to this kind of stuff?

i've always found techno fairly hard to get into just cos there's so much shit to wade through to find the good stuff

The stuff from UK is still pretty distinct IMO. Maybe I'm not the most well-versed guy in the field but from what I've heard the stuff coming from the UK scene is often much more percussive which is something I like a lot.

I'm no expert, usually just check out the new releases on Juno, they usually have a the very least 5-10 new releases up every day.

had a look through it, cheers! have to say though, a lot of it didn't particularly grab me.

i really liked a couple of UR tracks and some dub techno bits, think there was some STL stuff as well that was pretty sick

I cant really agree with this , the stuff from the UK sounds pretty weak and unoriginal , I watched an interview with blawan and pariah , and they even commented the same about UK techno productions.
And as regards my comments about Swamp81 , I dont think Swamp is a bad label , they have released some fantastic music , I just don't think that it's an original label , but it seems to be the one jaded dubstep fans gravitate to because of lofhas involvement , they here the tune and think that what swamp are doing is pretty groundbreaking , where in essence you can find similar 'bass music' going back as far as 1985 , people just need to dig.

You don't know anything.

'Lofha', are you serious? I can't even take you seriously.

Swamp 81 is forward thinking bass music, especially when you compare it to straight dubstep. The reason it's forward thinking is because the artists on the label fuse different styles together from the past and present, which is what makes so many of the releases unique.

I don't think any music can really be considered 'groundbreaking' because most of it has already been done, but in terms of the UK underground movement, Swamp81 and Hessle among others are certainly at the forefront. Funny, I don't remember Blawan and Pariah saying that. Hmm.

You can't find similar bass music from 1985. Maybe certain elements are similar, i.e. Boddika's use of the 303, but you wouldn't have had releases like Addison Groove and Kryptic Minds back in the 80's, don't be a moron, it just didn't happen.

The UK, as always, leads the way with innovative high quality music, especially underground, and swamp is no exception.
