Very true, they use the waveform, or data from the waveform.
For example, if you try to use well known youtube music ripping websites... They will not reject based on the URL used. You can try multiple links, They reject it after they convert the file and compare it to a database of waveforms that have copyright owners that complained about infringement.

I dont know what the original sonds like except for when i listend to the video, but im sure his version is different, like when it drops it sounds like a different koan sound tune and not the same as that youtube video
